Meeting with new friends 

One of the purposes of this program is to bring together the Japanese students with the local students to exchange their point of view. They discussed about entrepreneurship with Sukawati Vocational High School 2’s students that focus in arts and crafts. The students from ACT U20 were extremely excited in trying the ceramics making process as well as wood carving.

Besides visiting the vocational high school, they also visited Green School, in Badung. The school was really impressive! The students learned a lot about bamboo since the buildings of Green School are basically made of Bamboo. Yuki, one of the participant said that “The first impression was too shocking, and I was moved to tears and I really wanted to go to a school like this!”


Talking with farmers

The students got a chance to meet our farmers in Jembrana, Bali. They met with Pak Cakra – the coffee farmer after driving approximately for 3 hours. Pak Cakra is one of the greatest farmers that we ever met. He can explain about the effect of climate change to the coffee farm very well. Kenta, the participants of ACT U20 program was also really grateful because it was the first time he knew about the types of coffee and the process of making chocolate.

Hundreds of interviews!

Global Leaders Camp for ACT U20 was not only to get some insight about a developing country for the students, but also to try find the solution. During their stay, they divided into 3 teams and got different problem to solve. The problem is mainly about the waste in Bali and how to promote sustainability to the local.


Interview hundreds of people

Through a mini-research, the students were learning to gain accurate data through interview method. Not only interview, they also made their own product and tested to the people and get feedback through the interview. The students were extremely energetic! Under the intenseness of the sun, they were moving tirelessly from one interviewee to the next interviewee. In addition, in the whole 8 days, they can gather information from a hundred of participants. At the end of their visit, they had a presentation about their mini project and solution to the problem.
