DO-TANK WORKS

We operate as part of su‑re.co’s Think–Do–Be model. Our researchers identify what works (Think), our Do‑Tank pilots and scales those solutions with communities (Do), and our educators share skills and know‑how (Be). This end‑to‑end loop means evidence doesn’t sit in reports, it becomes biodigesters, trees, training, and better resilience.

DO-ENGINEERING - FROM WASTE TO RENEWABLE ENERGY

We convert organic waste into clean cooking energy and natural biofertilizer, allowing households to cook safely and farms to operate more sustainably. 

Through our Do-Engineering approach, we turn research results and field testing into biogas digesters designed to match real household needs. Our systems are simple, easy to use, low-cost, and repairable, supported by clear standards, installation guidelines, training, and long-term monitoring. By designing, installing, and maintaining appropriate technologies that cut LPG costs, reduce emissions, and produce organic fertilizer, we deliver solutions that function effectively across different contexts.

COFFEE WASTE TO ENERGY: A PATH TO CIRCULAR SUSTAINABILITY (2025-2027)

The project develops coffee pulp as biogas feedstock, turning waste into clean energy and enabling a circular economy across the coffee supply chain.

Empowered by ASEAN SEDP 4.0 training and selected as Demo Day winners, we introduced our first biogas pilot in Southwest Sumba to showcase how low-cost, easy-to-replicate systems can scale across rural communities.

TURNING WASTE INTO CHANGE

su-re.co’s biogas digester is a simple, portable system that turns daily organic waste like manure or kitchen scraps into clean cooking gas and natural fertilizer. Easy to install, use, and maintain with durable, locally sourced parts, it produces biogas in a sealed bag that fuels a stove for 1–2 hours of clean cooking daily. By replacing firewood and LPG, it reduces emissions and household costs.


Its lightweight, foldable design enables quick setup in remote areas while improving soil health through bioslurry fertilizer.

CLIMATE RESILIENT FARMER FIELD SCHOOL

Our Climate Resilient Farmers' Field School (CRFFS) translates research into practical action, equipping farmers with the knowledge and tools to navigate climate challenges and strengthen financial resilience. The program covers climate-smart agriculture, integrating weather forecasting with adaptive farming practices, and introduces sustainable technologies like biogas digesters. 

In addition, farmers gain financial literacy and make data-driven decisions for investment and risk management. By combining scientific insights with practical skills, the program enables farmers to manage their operations sustainably and adapt to an ever-changing climate.

DO-PLANTING -
RESTORING 
LAND THROUGH AGROFORESTRY

We revive critically degraded landscapes and strengthen the community livelihood through agroforestry that boosts land fertility & biodiversity while improving the local economy amid climate change.

Under an MoU already established between su-re.co and DKLH, we will rehabilitate approximately 20,000 hectares of degraded and ‘production’ forest land and agricultural land using assisted natural regeneration, enrichment planting and agroforestry. 


The resultant secondary forests and agroforests will have high values for ecotourism, sequester substantial amounts of carbon, produce a range of in-demand commodities (e.g., coffee, spices), generate bioenergy and offer improved ecosystem services to Bali as a whole.

DO-PLANTING INITIATIVES

Since 2023, 3,165 trees have been planted across pilot sites such as Wanagiri Village Forest. In collaboration with Tiger Mov, we started a pilot demonstration plot for 20 Ha from a total of 250 Ha Wanagiri Village Forest funded by TigerMov Inc.

Annually, we bring more than 500 planters from around the world to learn about the importance of agroforestry and how every sip of our coffee contributes to environmental sustainability and to improving the local economy. You can help us create a better future for our coffee supply chain!
