Think-Tank :
Sustainability & Climate Research Based in Bali
su-re.co's Think-Tank is a Bali-based sustainability research team delivering climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience solutions across various sectors. Our mission is to bridge science, policy, and community knowledge to co-create sustainable futures.
We produce actionable insights that guide governments, donors, and communities in tackling today’s climate challenges. Our work fuels su-re.co's practical projects (Do-Tank) and education initiatives (Be-Tank), because thinking is the first gift we give to the Earth.

OUR RESEARCH FOOTPRINT
RESEARCH, CONSULTING, AND IMPLEMENTATION PROJECTS
POLICY & COMUNITY WORKSHOP DELIVERED
EVERY INSIGHT WE PRODUCE IS DESIGNED TO BE A GIFT THAT INFORMS ACTION
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
THINK-DO-BE LOOP, FROM INSIGHT TO IMPACT
Most research institutions stop at publishing. We don’t. As a Think–Do–Be organization, we turn evidence into pilots, products, and education, so insights don’t sit on a shelf, they improve lives and landscapes

THINK (RESEARCH)
We generate rigorous, locally grounded research on climate adaptation, mitigation, and resilience.
DO (ACTION)
We apply what we learn through pilots and ventures : clean energy, climate-smart aquaculture, and regenerative agriculture to prove what works in the real world.
BE (EDUCATION)
We scale impact through training, curricula, and community capacity building, so knowledge becomes a shared skill, not a static PDF.

ONGOING RESEARCH PROJECT
We are currently leading and co-developing research projects in various sustainability domains.
Each one is a gift of knowledge designed to meet real-world needs.

Positive Tipping Points Towards Sustainability
Narrative-Network Dynamics in Tipping Processes Towards Low-Carbon Energy Futures: The Case of Indonesia

Lessons from Bali for small-scale biogas development in Indonesia
On this paper we explore the possibility of biogas contribute to a low-carbon transition pathway as cooking fuel, especially through the national mid-term development planning. We used Q-methodology to explore the ambiguity around biogas developments leading us to identify three “perspectives” regarding value on biogas: technology, cobenefits, and independence.

Policy dialogues in integrated assessment modelling (IAM)
“The scenarios in SR15 do not represent how decisions on climate change policy are actually arrived at.” Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs) are an integral part of the IPCC Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C (SR15)3 and the IPCC Assessment Reports before it, providing a framework to compare different possible measures to limit the level of global warming that is currently anticipated. In this briefing note, we describe how IAMs could be more effectively applied to support the design and assessment of low-carbon emission strategies, using a transdisciplinary approach that starts from the policies and measures that stakeholders are willing, and able, to implement.
