Hi! Okta from Business team is here! 🙋♀️
A few weeks ago, I thought I had to join a surfing class at least once in the lifetime as long as I live in Bali. It was an intense class for 2 hours. I actually can't swim and afraid to drown xD. Because back then when I was a kid, I have a bad experience with the sea. I almost drowned and cannot breathe. Without thinking too much, I decided to booked a class and met the couch then tell him that I was honestly afraid to surf. I asked his help to always put his eyes on me and understand that I'm having a hard time learning surfing. He simply nodded while smile at me and try to reassure "It's fine, don't be afraid. You will be able to stand on the board" he winked.
I felt a bit calmer and try to understand his explanation about the basic surfing technic. He taught me how to hold my board until how to stand on the board and find the perfect moment to surf with the wave. After 30 minutes of lecture, he then led us to the sea. My heart was beating so fast because I was so nervous. I had a bad experience with the sea but still enjoy seeing the view lol. I tried many times to stand on the board but still could not make it. The couch patiently taught me and convinced me that I can do that! I tried to be more focused and I finally stand on the board during the last 30 minutes of class hahaha.
I was so lucky for my first surfing class! The water was not that deep and the wave was not that high.
When I finally could stand on the board and ride the waves, I feel like I've tasted a new kind of freedom. How I could gain new power and conquer my fear. What an extraordinary feeling! I've also realized, how great mother nature has been to us all this time. I'm so grateful I could still experience it all.
In conclusion, my first surfing lesson was very unforgettable. I pushed myself to a new limit, tried to overcome my past trauma, and surprisingly I did it! It also acted as a reminder for me, how we should always be good for mother nature, so our future generation will still be able to experience all the goodness that we've experienced now 😌

We never forget the 1st wave! Surfing is dangerous as it is so addictive!
