Farmers' Heart: Growing Connections through Care

Hello everyone. I am a high school student in Japan. I would like to convey the thoughts of farmers through this blog. Even if you don't want to become a farmer, I would be happy if you become interested in agriculture. During my three weeks in Bali, I visited a total of three farms. As I listened to their stories and asked them questions, I found that all the farmers had one thing in common. That is, the feeling that they are doing it for someone. What particularly impressed me was the words I heard when I visited a community garden called Kebun Berdaya. "We are not doing this for profit, but to produce organic vegetables that everyone can eat with peace of mind and to increase opportunities to interact with everyone." From this, I thought that it is because of the desire to think of everyone first, not yourself, that deep connections and bonds are born. Becoming a farmer may be more difficult and fun than we think. However, I was surprised and happy that the motivation is a feeling of caring for others. Finally, even if you are not directly involved in agriculture, you can connect with agriculture. Changing our awareness and compassion will support farmers. Reducing waste, thinking about environmental issues, and communicating that are all connected to agriculture.

They are always thinking of someone and spending time for someone. Shouldn't we also think about important things, act, and take a step forward?

Halo semuanya. Saya seorang siswa sekolah menengah Jepang.

Great interview, but if I'm being honest felt more like 'why I'm still a Calvinist' than 'Christian'. I respect that Kristen's faith tradition is important to her, and she can obviously share to the level she feels comfortable with and no more, but this was a very intellectual conversation. I'd have appreciated hearing more about Kristen's personal faith in Jesus Himself and why that is not shaken despite the attacks she's endured. bjj sportswear

Really inspiring to see organizations like Farm Share stepping up so quickly to support communities affected by Hurricane Idalia. In difficult times like these, access to the right information and helpful online resources also matters a lot. Platforms like GroupSor are doing a great job by organizing useful links, community updates, and digital resources in one place, making it easier for people to stay informed and connected. Appreciating all efforts—both on the ground and online—that help people recover and move forward.
