The Third Student Symposium was held offline for the first time after pandemic with more than 100 participants joined the event. COP27 was also happening in November and su-re.co got a chance to be part of the side-event organized by EU. More biogas installed for farmers and more students from Japan visited Bali to explore about sustainability issues.

We conducted a policy dialogue with Indonesian stakeholders in Jakarta. We also installed more biogas digesters and gasmeters for farmers. Students from Japan also enjoyed Balinese culture and observe the sustainability issues in Bali. Check out su-re.co news Vol 45!

​Last month, we held 2 Climate Field Schools (CFS) funded by IKI Small Grants under GIZ and collaborated with AIAT Bali, BMKG Bali and Agroinsider. Our Business team exported other products to Japan while the Engineering team installed more biogas digesters to communities and farmers in Bali.

Our current LANDMARC research project will hold its first general assembly in The Netherlands and TIPPING+ project in Greece. After the first half of the IKI Small grants project has passed, we discovered that tapping into the carbon market through certifications became a more viable option than blockchain.

​We have completed our first coffee export for Hutan Coffee in Japan. More farmers in Bali and Yogyakarta have installed other biogas digesters. Our Giftmakers have done biogas hopping and learned that some farmers understand the biogas intuitively, while some need more support in fully understanding how to use it.

Indri, Tahir, and Cynthia travelled across Bali for three days to collect soil samples and set up a biogas digester. We also have an official partnership with Bali AIAT for the biogas installation for coffee and cacao farmers in Bali. Members of Little Lotus Coffee discuss what it's like to run a coffee business.

su-re.co with Climate Collective, an environmental group based in Switzerland, installed a biogas digester for our farmer in Gumbrih, Bali. We have done 2 SDGs Training programmes for schools in Japan with several collaboration activities. The 6th workshop report is finally available online

su-re.co has started two new projects from UNOPS & ADB while the LANDMARC, TIPPING+ and AGEP Projects are still in progress. The Lil Lotus CoFFee project just launched recently. The IKI project is currently looking for more farmers communities to install free biogas digesters.

​Besides producing gas that can be used for cooking, our biogas digester also produces organic fertilizer. The bio-slurry that is produced by the anaerobic process in our biogas contains good nutrient for the plants that can increase the quality of agricultural products.

​In this challenging situation, everything must be conducted online. We keep maintain our communication with our intern from the Netherlands who is conducting research on biogas from there. Thankfully, he gets the support from the local government to find a space to conduct his experiment where the temperature is close to “Bali”.
